Our first stop in Rotarua was a sheep ranch called the “Agradome” The sheep were called up according to their breed and there were 19 different breeds. Some were bred for softness o their wool, some were bred for the taste of the meat, some were good at breeding, all different reasons for the different breeds. Once they were on stage the guy had some of the audience come up and feed some baby lambs. Laurie was called up, how fun was that? We watched him shear the sheep, WOW
The dogs are an important part of the process. One dog demonstrated how to round them up by using geese the dog was so stealth. The next two dogs came in and barked a bit, the sheep were not phased at all. The guy had the dogs go around and behind the sheep then he ordered them to travel across the backs of each sheep. Again then sheep stayed calm. Verne was so impressed with the dogs he wanted to ride one.
BAH, RAM, EWE, To yourself be true…………
These are the cows we saw, only one other time, with the white stripe around the middle or the cows stomach. We looked around and most all of them were marked the same. They breed is named Belted Galloway. Just interesting. So on we go to the gondola ride and the luge. We had a fun time there. Across the way was another tour called Rainbow Springs. It was an inviromentalists heaven. The whole place was built to preserve the animals, birds, and ecosystem. At the end of this tour we rode splash mountain the ride took us around the culture or the land and then down the water slide to the end.
FUN
Our last stop before the sun completely set was to recreate Verne’s pictures he took 37 years ago. I am his new companion. We met a women who, because of her ancestor’s, has had this land for hundreds of years. The people of Rotarua live all among the hot boiling geysers and she had even put something in one of the holes of boiling water to cook some food. We got some pizza for dinner and head back to the condo. It was a very fun, long day.

looks like a lot of fun and tons of interesting places. Why didn't you get on the ram that thing was huge. So the lady didn't cook for you on the geyser? it probably would have tasted like rotten eggs anyway.
