This is December 29th?

It was a beautiful day. Mom burned all the wood off of the trailer, that I am rebuilding. Logan came over to put stuff in the barn and had to stay and enjoy the fire.

The chickens loved it. Especially the Speckled Sussex.

Christmas Eve in the Nativity

Christmas 2012                         By:  Grandma May

It's the middle of December and it's not very cold,

we might not even have snow, for Christmas we're told.

Never-the-less the show must go on, we will celebrate His birth,

the day that the Christ child came to this Earth.

It's been two years since Wesley was the babe in the hay,

This year, his new baby brother will be there to lay.

Bentley's just 4 ½ months old, but he sure knows his part

It's to lie quiet and still to the end, . . . from the start.

We are so excited to have our new Wisemen,

or should I say “Wiseguys” this year,

cuz it's Cody, and Baylor, with Wesley, bringing up the rear.

They are bringing gifts for the Christ child foretold,

of Frankincense, myrrh, and of course there is gold.

Evelyn is four but a shepherd in training,

watching her big brother Porter who isn't complaining.

Our inn keeper is sad cuz there's no room for the mother.

The inn was so crowded, Brooklyn wished there was another.

Our angel, Olivia, heralds the news of His birth,

to the shepherds, and wiremen and all men on Earth.

Mary and Joseph are the next on the scene

Nathan is Joseph, a quiet, hard working machine.

MaryLeigh, just loves to play Mary the mom,

what a blessing for Joseph that she came along.

The story of Jesus never gets old,

we get closer to Him every time it is told.

We love all our family where ever they are,

Even the James down in Roy, aren't really that far.

Merry Christmas to all and to all feel His love,

to all mankind He now sends from above.

Christmas Morning Aftermath

We visited all the kids homes on Christmas day. We visited Heidi virtually. It appears Santa was good to everyone.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Eve 2012

12-24-12-076112-24-12-0781Christmas eve started about 4:30 p.m. with a dinner of Roast, cheesy potatoes, 7 layer salad, 12 layer jello, and rolls.   The grandchildren were so excited to get their costumes on for the nativity.   We rehearsed  their parts and they were ready.   Bentley was a perfect babe in the manger.   I think he enjoyed all the kids looking at him and making him smile.  Brooklyn, memorized her part and she even played the guitar and sang a Christmas  song. 12-24-12-079112-24-12-080112-24-12-084112-24-12-086112-24-12-087112-24-12-088112-24-12-090112-24-12-0921We watch our lip sync movies after and a couple were kinda scary.   Callie and Brandon found snow for them to film,   Lindsey and Casey did a twilight zone episode to give us quite a thrill,  Logan and Ashley did a rock band and the three boys were naturals at the singing.   Heidi and Ryan did a boglin skit, even their own kids were a little scared. (poor Avin)  Then they thrilled us with their special effect expertise.   “Miracle”   Verne and Lori did a memory spot and had Cody and Evelyn lend us their voices for our parts.   We really had fun.

Christmas Cookie making

Tradition of making cookies and goodies happened on Sat.  The girls get together and pick their favorite recipes and we had a fun day.   The hill kids came over since Brandon needed to go to town.   Even Porter made some creative treats.   I think next year Brooklyn , Olivia, MaryLeigh, and Evelyn? would like to participate.   The cupcakes were from Lindsi’s file.   Icing and marshmallows  made them look like a cup of Hot chocolate.    Ashley’s pretzels, dip and sprinkled are always a hit.   Callie’s contribution  was muddy buddies and kissin cookies.   Porter was pretty impressed with his pretzels with icing and a large pecan.   He said they looked like a face. (they did).     I, (as always) made snowballs.   They are Verne’s favorite.12-24-12 04912-24-12 05112-24-12 05312-24-12 05412-24-12 05612-24-12 05712-24-12 05812-24-12 06012-24-12 06112-24-12 062

Ward Christmas Party

We had a fun Christmas party on Saturday morning. Guess what the theme was?

The Bishopric cooked all the pancakes. Of course I made sure they were Snoqualmie pancakes.
