Hike to Silcox Hut do not attempt on a full stomach.
We went with the Dyers up to the Resort at the Mountain. It is always a relaxing calm time. We decided to hike up to Silcox hut above Timberline Lodge. Elevation gain 1000 feet in one mile. Start at 6000 feet and end at 7000 feet. It was a beautiful hot Sept. day. You should try it someday.
The Priests Quorum were over for breakfast, and this is what I cooked.
These were the last three poplars on the property. It is the end of the poplar era. Lots of work but fun at the same time. I had my helpers with me. The steel cable broke on us three times, made it a little tense for a moment.
We went to Chapman School again this year to watch the Swifts go down the chimney. There were so many this year that all of them could not get in. This is really an unusual sight to witness.
We got 3/4 of an inch of rain yesterday. Set a new record for the day. Went over to Logans and finished his entertainment center. Hopefully he will blog it so we can all see it done.
We have never frozen tomatoes before. This year we are freezing some and also the traditional canning in quart jars.
