Brandon, Porter and I left Friday afternoon for the Indian Heaven Wilderness area. We hiked into Thomas Lake and camped. Brandon caught three trout, which porter loved reeling in.We had a nice campsite right next to the lake. It was great sitting and talking with Brandon and Porter around the fire into the wee hours of the night. I picked fresh huckleberries for breakfast. Porter saw me eating them and he went crazy picking and eating them. Good times……….Porter is using Logans first pack.

56 Mile High Adventure Aug.2-6
I went on a 50 mile hike that turned into 56 miles. The Venture, and Varsity scouts, Todd Gleason, and Larry Foltz were on this hike to the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. We hiked all the way around all three peaks. We climbed 10800 vertical feet, and went down 8200 feet. I blistered my feet! This area is spectacular. Lots of water and snow. The first day was beautiful, sun, rain, thunder, lightning, and hail, big black clouds. This was the best 50 miler I have done, no boys dragging behind. I put snow in my hat to help keep me cool. It worked great.Mosquitoes not as bad as 14 years ago with Logan. Boys that went were:
Cameron Johnson, Zack Hale, Taylor and Kyle Gleason, Chris and Anthony Pierre, Aaron Brandley, and Josh Schmidt. When we finished we had dinner in Bend at the Red Robin. Food never tasted so gooooood.
