The family, minus Heidi, Ryan and grandkids, converged at the May barn for harvest activities.
Of course there was the expected screaming and crying, until the donuts were unvieled.
Menu was bean dip, cider from Joe’s Place, veggies, and lots of donuts.
Then the carving started. It gets better every year
. 
We, The Dyers and us, left for Sisters Oregon today at 3:30 pm. Beautiful drive to Salem, and we had dinner. Shrimp shrimp and more shrimp was the order of the day. We arrived in Sisters at 8:30 pm on Thursday and went to bed. The Condo is beautiful, has a pond out of our window.
We got up Friday and headed to the Craters. Went to Windy peak, it was windy and cold. Dee Wright observatory was the next stop. Built in the depression in 1937 by the CCC. It is all made from Lava which covers the area as far as the eye can see.. 
From there we hiked to two water falls. Proxy falls and one unnamed. They were really spectacular. Interesting note. The unnamed waterfall has 3 big streams running into a pond. The pond has no outlet it just stays the same level. The water is going into the porous rock formation and must come out somewhere else. Very nice.
Today there was a harvest festival in Sisters. It was raining but fun. Had some good Hawaiian plate, pulled pork, and chicken. Got a free print from Dan Rickard, a local artist in Sisters. 
Well Logan and Ashley are in Utah seeing Heidi and Ryan. They were not with us as a result. The Dyer clan and the May clan made our yearly rendezvous to Beaver Campground to teach the young ones about camping and the memories and relationships that are formed. We had a wonderful stay. We hiked with the Baldwin's to lower falls road 3062. The falls are beautiful. The grandkids hiked like mad. Brooklyn even did it in her flip flops.WE made hobo dinners, dutch oven diners, and dutch oven desserts. We had a great time talking to everyone late into the night. Before we left to Beaver campground we had to take a last picture of our dahlias and the corn, that grow in our lovely garden. Fall is definitely in the air.
