Memorial Weekend

 

Lori and I struck out on a long trip to the Hills Tolavana house, via Tillamook on Friday morning.We stopped at the Tillamook cheese factory and got a cone and some cheese. I took this photo of the tractor at the Blue heron cheese factory in Tillamook.

We met up with the Hills at the beach house, and went sightseeing. The old Ship wreck in Astoria, the Goonies house, and Astoria tower, which has 164 steps to the top.

This was a tough race. We got up at 4:30 am on Saturday drove to downtown Ogden. Boarded buses that took us up Ogden Canyon to Eden Utah. We stood in the rain for about an hour and a half. Outside temperature around 38-40 degrees. They had barrels with fire in them for us to stand next to, but the cold and rain overpowered the heat. The race was run under a full out rain storm that never let up. Heidi ran with a sprained ankle and still beat me by 5 minutes.

After the race Lindsi started to get the first signs of hypothermia. I helped her get back to the the car so she could warm up. Ryan and I went back to find Heidi, because she disappeared after she crossed the finish line.

I am glad that I was able to run with my daughters and Ryan. It was a memorable experience we had together.Ryan and I are putting recessed lighting in their kitchen.

Mothers Day Flowers

 

I got the picture of the flowers, but no mother.

The Old man and His Garden

 

This is the earliest we have planted the garden! I am trying a new watering system this year. I am converting the sprinklers to soaker hoses that will lay next to the plants. Hopefully will reduce weeds and fungus.

I put new tines on the old Troybilt this spring. It is tearing up the garden .

The rodies are in full bloom right now. Moms teeth are perfect, great smile! We look so good together next to the plants!

 

Fathers and Sons Campout at Scouters Mountain

 

 

 

Brandon and I cooked all the burgers for the fathers and sons. Porter seasoned every burger with Montreal Seasoning.

Brandon and Porter were the hit at our evening program. They threw candy and shirts to the assembled group, and then gave away bags with surprises in them.

Sitting around the light talking with the most important people in my life.

My bunk mates for the night. Flashlights and boys go together, but make for long nights.
